Thomas Mulhern
Builder. Engineer. Veteran.
About
I build systems that make complex things manageable. Right now that means AI orchestration -- a personal infrastructure layer that coordinates agents, automates workflows, and turns raw information into decisions. Before that it was intelligence collection in the Army, where I learned that the best systems are the ones that disappear into the work.
I'm studying electrical engineering at Arizona State University, building toward a future where software and hardware converge in my own hands. The long game is full-stack: from circuit design to deployed AI systems.
What I'm Building
Orchestration System
A personal AI operating layer. Task management, time tracking, nutrition automation, relationship intelligence, content pipelines, and financial monitoring -- all coordinated through Claude Code with persistent state across sessions.
The Progress Method
An accountability system built on the insight that what you track, you change. Pod-based coaching with AI-powered data collection. Piloted with real users, now evolving toward a Substack-first relaunch.
Writing
Essays on building personal systems, AI as infrastructure, and the gap between knowing what to do and doing it. Published on Substack.
Background
U.S. Army veteran. Held a TS/SCI clearance and worked in intelligence collection. The military taught me how to operate in ambiguity, lead small teams, and build processes that work when you're not watching.
Currently transitioning to civilian life with a focus on engineering, AI systems, and building things that compound.
